Why Is kids dinnerware always so ugly?
Why does kids dinnerware always have to be small, covered in loud cartoons, bright plastic colours, or characters that don’t match the rest of the home?
As a mum of two energetic boys I wanted kids dinnerware that felt beautiful, timeless, and made for family life - pieces you actually want on your table instead of hidden away in a cupboard. And honestly… the kids always want to eat off my plate anyway 🤍.
Our dinnerware is independently tested, LFGB certified, made to FDA standards, and free from conventional plastics, BPA, melamine, phthalates, and heavy metals.
Made using modern plant-based materials derived from fermented corn starch and natural bamboo fibre, each piece is lightweight, durable, and designed for everyday family life.
After more than a year researching materials and refining designs, we were drawn to the latest innovations in plant-based PLA dinnerware. Unlike many traditional bamboo products, PLA doesn’t require synthetic binders like melamine to hold its shape.
As parents ourselves, we found so many “eco” options still relied heavily on low quality plastics or simply didn’t last over time, not to mention the microplastics shedding into food. We wanted something softer and more homely than stainless steel, more durable than many bamboo composites, and also to support gut health. Low quality dinnerware often has harmful chemicals like lead, cadmium and PFAS that can cause issues with your gut microbiome.
So I created Elavoland - thoughtfully designed dinnerware inspired by nature, modern family living, and the belief that everyday dinnerware can still feel beautiful and be healthy.

OUR VISION
The name Elavo (El- La-Vo) comes from the Latin word for “to clean,” while land represents the place we all call home. Together, Elavoland means clean land-a vision of living with fewer harmful plastics and chemicals, and embracing a more natural way of life.
OUR MISSION
It’s hard to ignore how much plastic is entering our oceans and environment and how interconnected it all is. Microplastics have now been found in marine life, agricultural soils, amniotic fluid, and even human brain tissue.
As a boy mum, I loved the convenience of plastic plates, but the thought of serving food on something that could contribute microplastics into their meals didn’t feel right.
I also struggled to find alternatives I truly loved. Stainless steel felt harsh for the home, while many “eco-friendly” bamboo products actually contain melamine-based resins.
Surely the dinnerware we eat off every day should be safe, practical, and beautiful too?
